     The Crow and the Serpent

There was a Crow who was once very hungry. He saw down a snake enjoying the sunny day. On seeing him , the Crow fly down and caught the snake.

 The Snake, turning about, bit the Crow with a fatal wound. In the point of death, the bird exclaimed:

 "O unhappy me! who have found in that which I deemed a happy windfall the source of my destruction."
